I have a memory of walking with my cousin Graham on a sunny  summer day in the late 1950's down Hillfoot Road discussing serious philosophical matters, At the time, I was a Deck Apprentice in Shell tankers and was on leave.
I recall that I was wearing a broad-rimmed Panama hat that I had purchased in Baranquilla, Colombia, South America, where the infamous pirate, Captain Morgan, once made his headquarters.
I wonder if Graham has any memory of this?
